Your photos stay yours.

Sit June. Sit. is a small pet-portrait studio run from Comox, British Columbia. This policy explains what we collect when you use sitjunesit.com, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions: hello@sitjunesit.com.

What we collect

• Pet photos you upload, and the portrait previews we make from them.
• Your pet's name, if you add one, and who the portrait is for (my pet, a gift, in memory).
• Your email address, if you ask us to email your preview or you place an order.
• Order details: your name, shipping address, phone number (if given), the products you choose, and notes you send about your proof.
• Payment details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
• Basic technical data: a random visitor ID stored in your browser and a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address. We use these to apply the daily free-preview limit and keep the site secure. We also collect anonymous page-visit statistics.

How we use it

• To make your previews and portraits, and to send, print and ship your order.
• To email you your preview, your proof, order updates and your download link.
• To answer your questions and handle tweaks, reprints or refunds.
• To prevent abuse of the free preview and to keep records the law requires (for example, tax records).
• Marketing emails only if you tick the box to opt in. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time.
• We do not sell your information, and we do not use your photos or portraits to train AI models.
• We won't post your pet's portrait publicly (on Instagram or on this site) unless you give us permission.

Who helps us

We share only what each service needs to do its job:

• Lovable and Supabase: website hosting, database and file storage.
• Google (Gemini), through the Lovable AI Gateway: generates the portrait from your photo.
• Stripe: payments.
• Our print partner: receives your approved portrait file and shipping address, to print and ship your prints.
• Our email provider: sends preview and order emails.

Some of these services store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.

How long we keep it

• Uploaded photos and previews that don't become an order: deleted after 90 days.
• Order photos, proofs and final portraits: kept for 2 years, so you can re-download or reorder. Ask and we'll delete them sooner.
• Order and payment records: kept for 7 years, as Canadian tax law requires.
• Email addresses on our mailing list: kept until you unsubscribe.

Your choices and rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and BC's PIPA), you can:

• ask what personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct it;
• ask us to delete it, except records we must keep by law;
• withdraw consent to marketing emails.

Email hello@sitjunesit.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Cookies and browser storage

We store a random visitor ID and your in-progress preview choices in your browser, so the preview tool works and remembers where you left off. Stripe sets its own cookies during checkout to prevent fraud. We don't use advertising cookies.

Children

This site is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let customers with open orders know by email.
