These terms apply when you use sitjunesit.com or buy from Sit June. Sit. ("we", "us"), a studio based in Comox, British Columbia, Canada. By placing an order, you agree to them.

How our portraits are made (AI disclosure)

Every Sit June. Sit. portrait is created with AI image generation. We use Google's Gemini image model, guided by our own style references and prompts. The AI does the painting. We check every proof by hand before you see it, and nothing is printed until you approve it. We don't claim the portraits are hand-painted.

Because AI is involved, small details (a marking, a whisker pattern, an ear) can come out differently from your photo. That is what the proof and tweak steps are for.

Free previews

Previews are free, limited to one per collection per visitor per day, and watermarked. They're for deciding whether to order. Please don't use watermarked previews commercially or remove the watermark.

Your photos

When you upload a photo, you confirm it's yours or that you have permission to use it. You give us permission to use it only to make and deliver your portrait. You keep all rights to your original photo.

Orders, prices and payment

• Prices are in Canadian dollars and are shown before you pay. Applicable taxes are added at checkout.
• Payment is taken in full at checkout, through Stripe.
• We ship to Canada and the United States. Prints ship for a flat $12 CAD.
• US orders may be subject to duties or import fees set by US customs. These are the buyer's responsibility.

Proofs and tweaks

• Your proof arrives within 2 business days of your order.
• If something isn't right, request a tweak from your order page and we'll send a revised proof. We include reasonable tweaks to likeness and details. A change of collection or style counts as a new portrait.
• Nothing is printed or released as a final file until you approve the proof.

Cancellations and refunds

• Before you approve your proof: cancel any time for a full refund.
• After approval: each portrait is custom-made, so we can't accept returns for change of mind.
• Damaged or defective prints: email a photo to hello@sitjunesit.com within 14 days of delivery and we'll reprint or refund, your choice.
• Lost parcels: if tracking shows no delivery after 30 days, we'll reprint and resend.
• Digital files: non-refundable once downloaded, since they can't be returned.

Using your portrait

• Personal use: you can print, display, share and gift your portrait for personal use, including posting it on social media (a tag is appreciated).
• Commercial use: you may not sell the portrait or use it on products you sell unless we agree in writing.
• Our examples: we may show your portrait as an example of our work only if you give us permission.

Our responsibility

We'll make your portrait with care, and we'll fix it or refund you as described above. As far as the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
